Facebook.com Bans in Pakistan

After clear discrimination of Facebook for not banning blasphemous Fan Page, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom has directed PTA to ban Facebook Page in Pakistan, told us sources close to authority.

A reliable source, who is in direct contact with Secretary MoIT, told ProPakistani that ministry has issued the directive to PTA to ban said blasphemous content in the country.

Ministry of Information Technology directs PTA for banning any URL or whole of website in case of any inappropriate content available on it.

It is yet to be ascertained if the whole Facebook will be banned or just a single URL will be filtered. In both the situations, Step is inline with thousands of Facebook users and according to their urge of boycotting Facebook on May 20th.

It merits mentioning here that a Fan Page on Facebook is encouraging its members to draw Prophet Mohammad’s drawings (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa-aal-hi-Wasallam).

Despite thousands of requests, Facebook didn’t put this page down even it violated Facebook’s own terms of services.

Pakistan Presidency’s Five Chauffeurs Slip Away in USA

Five official drivers of the Presidency in Islamabad, who were sent on a special training program last year, have managed to take a slip in the United State (US), TheNation reported citing reliable sources.

A credible source told the paper that the Pakistani Presidency had sent five drivers including Rafiq Khattak, Shakir Khan, Fayyaz Butt and two others to the US for chauffeur-training course. However, two of them took the slip immediately after completion of their training while three came back with multiple visas to pursue their careers abroad, abandoning the Government of Pakistan.

The source quoting subsequent information that the remaining sole driver also fled to the US availing his multiple visas.

All the five Presidential chauffeurs, the source said, have still not returned to the country and are probably working on private jobs in the US.

One of the chauffeurs, Rafiq Khattak, who had been working with the Presidency for the last 24 years, have submitted a leave application from abroad. However, the Presidency strongly rejected his application and served him a show cause notice.

When asked about the Presidential drivers slipping away in USA, the Presidential spokesman, Farhatullah Babar, said he had no idea about the incidence. “I have never heard of it,” he maintained.

Observers question why these drivers were sent abroad without following due procedures or safeguards.

Use of e-mail against govt to be checked

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched a campaign against the people involved in spreading ill-motivated and concocted stories through e-mails and text messages against the civilian leadership, interior ministry sources said here on Sunday.Interior Minister Rehman Malik has directed the relevant agencies to assist the FIA to counter such anecdotes against the political government, the sources maintained. A similar campaign has also been initiated against the proscribed organisations using the Internet for malicious propaganda against security forces. The director general FIA has been instructed to monitor and check these stories and messages and take necessary action under the Cyber Crime Act. Strict action is being taken against all the culprits in the next few days as the FIA has already done a lot of work on it. Simultaneously, Interpol/Lyon has also been requested to identify those e-mail addresses and websites registered abroad which are being used for such stories. It is pertinent to mention here that under the Cyber Crime Act, the violators can be punished for 14 years of imprisonment besides confiscation of property. Any Pakistani living abroad and violating the provisions of the Cyber Crime Act can also be charged under the Act and is liable for deportation to Pakistan. All Internet Service Providers shall be checked physically by the FIA on daily basis, the sources concluded.APP adds: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Sunday that a special centre had been set up to investigate and take action against offensive e-mails and SMS. Talking to a private TV channel, he said: ìWe have set up a special centre where people can report offensive e-mails and SMS and we will apprehend the offender within 48 hours.îThe minister said this campaign was started about two weeks ago and had only been made public now. “We have received numerous complaints about offensive e-mails and SMSs and have also arrested a man from Azad Kashmir, who was spreading damaging e-mails against our security officials,” Malik said. “We have marked some websites that are based abroad and our teams will be paying a visit to these countries soon. The Interpol too will be helping us, as the whole world is united against cyber crime,” he said. “People can also register their complaints at inister@interior.gov.pk, he added.

Child Labor in Pakistan

A lot of government and non-government organizations (NGOs) are working in Pakistan to over come child labor issue. They arrange seminars and workshops to create awareness in the mass regarding child labor. I think our problem is not awareness, our problem is poverty. When animals care for their young ones, feed and protect them with out attending these seminars and workshops, then why not human beings. Actually these orgnization and people are not intrested in solving this problem. They are intrested in their salaries, TA, DA and other personal benifites.

I will sumup with this quote:

No one, but only the wearer know, where the show punches.
